Physical chemistry?
Does anyone know about a good physical chemistry study guide? I'm taking this class this semester, and I need some extra help. I've heard abouth the Schaum's study guide, but some say it's kind of confusing.

- Compared to the cost of your textbook Schaum's Outline of Physical Chemistry by Metz is super inexpensive. It can be confusing, but only if you try to skim through it. Physical chemistry is the bear. It is the single biggest reason why there are fewer chemists and more doctors who wanted to be chemists. You must learn the math. There are no shortcuts. Physical Chemistry Calculations by Rodney Sime is great for setting up problems using computer software and spreadsheets.
- Try chemistry for dummies.
- Physical chemistry is a very intensely mathmatics based course.. good luck... most of us are very glad to be done with it :)). Try finding a copy of Applied Mathematics for Physical Chemistry by James R. Barrante. I don't know which text book you will be using, but if you can find a used copy of the Atkins text, I would get one. Atkins is the authority on Physical Chemistry and his examples are often more helpful than some of the other texts.
